                                 About the Authors

Joanne Price, CSA, Director of Integricare Corporation, a certified restorative exercise
specialist, and owner of
Alert San Diego, a medical alert company. And director of Life Safety
Technologies, a dementia care safety product company. Joanne Price has been working in
the senior health industry for many years. She is a popular speaker and has presented fall
prevention and healthy aging seminars for the Arthritis Foundation, YMCA, OA and San Diego
Aging and Independence Services. Ms. Price is past chairperson for the San Diego AIS Falls
Task Force, providing community outreach and education on fall prevention to senior
organizations and support groups and is a member in good standing with the San
Diego/Imperial County Regional Home Care Council and the San Diego Council on Aging. Ms.
Price is currently serving as co-chair of the San Diego Caregiver Coaltion.

Brett Longo is a Physical Therapist who has devoted the last eight years of his career to
working with elderly people in the home health setting.  He now works for More Than Physical
Therapy Health Services located in the Valley Center area.  He is the Director of Community
Education, and is here to talk to you about Balance as it relates to ageing.  He has extensive
training in balance re-education for those advancing in age, and feels this is the most
important aspect to maintaining quality of life for seniors.  

Patricia-Jo Dean, RN, C is a certified gerontological nurse with 37 years nursing experience
20 of them acute care and 17 years long term care for the elderly. Currently, Patricia is the
Director or Nurses at Mary Ann Morse Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Natick, MA.

Amy McAllister, RD, LDN, CDOE is a registered dietitian working at Care New England
Wellness Center in Warwick, RI. She has 20 years experience as a registered dietitian and 17
years working with long term care patients. Currently she works with patients in the area of
diabetes education and cardiac rehabilitation in an outpatient environment.
